The autoclave is on the right side of the image above, it is the pressure vessel where the leaching and/or oxidation of the ore feed takes place. Extensive engineering is required to produce a safe & long-lasting vessel that can withstand the corrosive and abrasive slurries at the pressures and temperatures your ore may require. But that is just one part of the complex system that is required to get the slurry safely up to pressure and back down again.
